Menorca is best known for its gorgeous beaches and crystal clear azure sea and, after our visit, I can totally see why. But, what some people don’t know is that it also boasts a prettier than a postcard rustic town known as the Ciutadella. Situated at the North-Westerly point of the island, it was only a stone’s throw from where we were staying in Cap d’Artrutx.
I don’t know about you, but for me there is a limit to how much time I can spend lying on a beach when I know that there are pretty towns to be discovered and explored only a short drive away. So after having our fill of lazy days on the beach, we headed to the Ciutadella in search of a little culture and some photo opportunities.
It’s fair to say that rustic is the perfect word to describe this town. In fact it is perfectly rustic, almost to the point of looking a little like a movie set. With 3 photography enthusiasts in our group of 5, we had a great time wandering the back streets and alleyways keeping our eyes peeled for interesting pictures and pretty scenes. Below are 30 shots that I think describe the Ciutadella best.
Looks great, I’d love to go! I’ve been to Mallorca a lot but never menorca! Great post 😊
