After seeing some incredible photos of the Isle of Skye and hearing dozens of friends wax lyrical about how beautiful it is, we knew we had to visit. The Isle of Skye is definitely a buzz destination at the moment, with scores of people flocking there each year to see what all the fuss is about. And it’s easy to see why.
Jaw-dropping, unspoiled landscapes, rugged mountain ranges and an abundance of wildlife mean there is a photo op at every turn. In addition, you’ll find a wealth of history and culture, including two castles, the oldest inn on Skye and a fantastic whisky distillery as the icing on the cake.
So in 2016, longing to breathe in the fresh air of Scotland, we jumped at the chance to join some friends on their trip to Skye. And to this date, it remains one of my all-time favourite trips.
We had the best five days exploring Skye’s rugged and inspiring landscape. Scotland is notorious for its unpredictable weather patterns, but fortunately, we were blessed with fantastic weather and got to see the Isle of Skye in all its glory.
So, if you’re not already grabbing your passport and running out the door, hopefully, you will be after these 30 epic photos of the Isle of Skye, Scotland. Enjoy!

Wow, wow, wow! These pictures are absolutely stunning! I lived in Edinburgh for a year and never made it to the Isle of Skye. Such a bummer but a great excuse to go back 😉
Ah, that’s such a shame! Hope you get to go back soon. It’s worth it!
Whaaaaaat! I refuse to believe the Isle of Skye is that beautiful. Your photos are insane! I’ve only been to Edinburgh but this place is now pretty high up my list…

oh my gosh how beautiful! I hope to get to Scotland someday soon! I live in Canada, and my province is Nova Scotia – which means new Scotland! Our Cabot Trail looks similar! Really neat!
Ah, that’s so interesting. I had no idea that’s what Nova Scotia means!
Yep I am absolutely convinced!
