According to many polls, New York City is the number one most photographed city in the world. And with a staggering 65 million tourists visiting Manhattan in 2018 alone, it’s hardly surprising. This iconic destination is home to famous landmarks such as Times Square, the Empire State Building, the State of Liberty and countless other must-see attractions, so it’s easy to see why people are so eager to snap some epic photos of New York City.
When we visited New York City for the first time back in 2014, my husband was only just starting to take up photography as a hobby. He had just bought his first DSLR, a Nikon D3200, and a cheap kit lens, and was still learning the ropes. Nevertheless, he took some pretty awesome photos of New York City that trip, some of which now grace the walls of our home.
Now, 5 years later, Jamie is a fully-fledged, self-taught professional photographer, producing amazing images of everything from weddings, properties, events and travel destinations. And when we visited New York for the second time around in February of this year, he had in mind some very specific photos of New York City that he wanted to get. So, we took along his wide angle lens, a 28-300mm lens and a 35mm 1.8 prime lens to get the shots that would stand out from the crowd.
