8 Best Places to Eat in Corfu, Greece: With Map

Corfu isn’t just about beautiful beaches and sunbathing by a pool! Corfu also has an amazing culinary scene with a plethora of authentic family-run tavernas and beachside restaurants serving traditional home-cooked Greek food that make Corfu truly worth visiting.

But with so many to choose from, it can be difficult to pick the best places to eat in Corfu. On top of that, you don’t always know which restaurants offer the best value for money or which dishes you will enjoy most, especially on your first visit.

But fear not, because after visiting Corfu eight times, I’ve sampled the best of what Corfu has to offer. So, if you’re planning a trip to Corfu, read on for my personal recommendations in this guide on where to eat in Corfu, along side which dishes to try at each place.

Dolphin Taverna, Paleokastritsa

One of the best places to eat in Paleokastritsa is Dolphin Taverna. This beautiful, family-run taverna is situated off the road, and you would be forgiven for not even knowing it was there.

The jaw-dropping views across the bay make for an incredible backdrop to your meal. The food is always excellent, and the staff have always been friendly, welcoming and polite every time I’ve visited! There are a lot of steps to get down to the restaurant, so this is something to be aware of if your mobility is limited.

Recommended dish at Dolphin Taverna: Bekri-Meze or Stifado.

Location: Dolphin, Palaiokastritsa 490 83, Greece

Price: ££ – Reasonable prices for good portions; you may pay slightly more for the view than other, smaller roadside tavernas, but it’s worth it as the view is spectacular.

Boulis Taverna, Lakones

The owners of this taverna are warm-hearted, friendly, and so welcoming, which is one of the reasons we decided to try it. They just drew us inside with their big smiles and friendly nature.

Situated in the mountain-side village of Lakones, which overlooks Paleokastritsa, it has one of the most breathtaking views and some of the best food we have tasted in Corfu, making this one of the best places to eat near Paleokastritsa. What’s more, the food is all traditional and home-cooked by Spyros and Elena, with homemade bread and wine to match.

Recommended dish at Boulis Taverna: Souvlaki

Location: Boulis, Lakones 490 83, Greece

Price: ££ – Average taverna prices, ranging from €12-25 for a main depending on what you choose.

7th Heaven Cafe, Loggas Beach, Peroulades

If you read my post on the best beaches in Corfu, you’ll know how much I love Loggas Beach, and this cafe is one of the reasons why. This restaurant enjoys incredible views out to sea, over the unbelievably turquoise water, with stunning cliffs framing the beach on either side.

7th Heaven Cafe has a cool, chill-out vibe, and they make delicious pina coladas! Be sure to order the Greek salad and traditional dried bread if you fancy a bite to eat, all while you sit on the swings, enjoying the view! I always make sure I visit 7th Heaven Cafe when I’m in Corfu.

Recommended dishes at 7th Heaven: Greek Salad, Traditional Dried Bread and Pina Coladas

Location: 7th Heaven, Peroulades 490 81, Greece

Price: ££ – Very reasonable considering there is only 1 or 2 other tavernas in the area to choose from, and neither of them have a view.

Skalinada Restaurant, Corfu Town

Corfu Town’s Old Town is a place you should not miss! As a UNESCO World Heritage Site since June 2007, the Old Town is stunning and a joy to get lost in.

While you explore the Old Town, make sure you head to Skalinada Restaurant if you want delicious food in beautiful surroundings. Housed in a landmark building built in 1672, the restaurant is extremely quaint and has also been a family-run business since 1842.

The restaurant is situated in a tiny paved street with shuttered windows and balconies filled with colourful flowers. The restaurant opens out right onto the street with tables and chairs out in the cobbled walkways. It’s so pretty, and the food is great too!

Recommended dish at Skalinada: The bruschetta here is delicious! The Greek salad is also great.

Price: ££ – Reasonable prices for good portions. Expect to spend €15-20 per person for a main meal and a drink.

Dolce Cafe, Patisserie Cafe, Lakones

If you’re an ice cream lover, this is the place for you! Another cafe in Lakones with out-of-this-world views over the bays and cliffs of Paleokastritsa, they serve some of the creamiest ice-cream and most delicious desserts on the island. They also supply many restaurants in Paleokastritsa with their desserts.

Sunset Cafe and Restaurant, Kaiser’s Throne, Pelekas

Sunset Cafe and Restaurant is located at the top of the hill in Pelekas, next to the monument Kaiser’s Throne. You can walk to Kaiser’s Throne from Pelekas or drive up and park at the top. Either way, Sunset Cafe and Restaurant is a welcome pitstop with incredible views over the coast and sea.

Elizabeth’s, Doukades

Located in the picturesque village of Doukades, only a short drive outside Paleokastritsa, Elizabeth’s Taverna is as traditional as you can get. This tiny taverna is known as one of the best on the island, and while it doesn’t look much, it always delivers on food, quantity and quality! Taverna Elizabeth is my personal favourite place to eat because I love the village setting, away from the tourist resorts.

The family that owns and runs this taverna are extremely friendly. The taverna has been handed down through Elizabeth’s family to keep the family tradition alive with their fantastic cooking and friendly service. This is one of the best places to eat in Corfu, without a doubt.

Recommended dishes: Stifado, Pastitsada or Sofrito

Price: Family-run taverna prices are very reasonable.

Nereids, Paleokastritsa

Nereids is a pretty restaurant in Paleokastritsa that serves great food in a lovely setting. It is a little more upmarket and is slightly smarter than some of the local family-run tavernas. The restaurant is hard to miss, as it is situated right on one of the main corners in Paleokastritsa. The staff at Nereids are always friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant has a really nice vibe.

In the summer months, Nereids hosts a Greek dancing night, which, although very touristy, is still a lot of fun!

Recommended dishes: Bekri Meze or Drunken Chicken.

Price: ££ – Very reasonable prices for great food and good portion sizes.

Budget-Friendly

Paleo Inn Hotel – small, family-run hotel with incredible views over Paleokastritsa Bay.

Anemona Studios – low-cost apartments in Paleaokastritsa, above a supermarket.

Mid-Range

Paradise Apartments – I stayed in these apartments in 2024 and loved them. The owners were friendly and welcoming, it’s a quiet area with private parking and very close to the centre of Paleokastritsa.

Arianna Apartments – I have stayed here twice. The location is fab, just a 5-minute walk to the main beaches in Paleokastritsa, although down a very steep hill!

Luxury

Akrotiri Beach Resort Hotel – a stunning 5-star hotel in a beautiful location in Paleokastritsa, close to nearby beaches and restaurants

    2. The Orchard, between Sidari and Peroulades, is great. They grow their own fruit and veg out back or in the trees around the tables. And at night they switch on strings of painted gourd lanterns. Chips really taste amazing and lemon cake is great. Love the spicy pork too.

    3. Romantic Palace in Agios Gordios, family run, grows own produce. Delicious home-cooked Corfiot food, prepared and served by the wonderful Pangalis family.
